Zuckerbergs will donate $25 million to find a cure for coronavirus

Philanthropic Organization Chan Zuckerberg Initiative reported on the allocation of $ 25 million for research that should help develop a drug against coronavirus.

The organization was founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan. They will transfer $ 20 million to COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator – the same accelerator previously received $ 125 from the charitable organization of Bill Gates and his wife Melinda. The funds are planned to be spent on promising drugs to combat the virus. Zuckerberg and Chan will leave another $ 5 million for expenses that scientists may require in the future.

The family of the founder of Facebook has previously been involved in the fight against coronavirus. So, the Chan Zuckergerg Biohub research center is already working on creating a large number of available tests for COVID-19. Gates also helped with the tests.
