The motorcycle racer died at the seventh stage of the Dakar rally

On Sunday afternoon, January 12, it became known about the death of a motorcycle racer during the seventh stage of the Dakar rally marathon. According to the latest information, we are talking about a Portuguese citizen Paulo Gonçalves.

Information about the incident was provided to journalists earlier today by the press service of the competition.

It is established that Paulo Gonçalves fell from his motorcycle on the 276th kilometer of the stage. The 40-year-old athlete was promptly taken to a nearby medical facility by helicopter. Doctors, however, were forced to ascertain the death of a motorcycle racer.
